Sometimes, the act of tearing something apart is how we begin to put ourselves back together.Join local collage artist Reflective Abyss (Josh Dickens) for a three-hour workshop exploring the intuitive, expressive, and therapeutic power of collage. This is a relaxed, come-as-you-are event designed for anyone who’s interested in exploring creativity through cut paper, found images, and self-guided visual storytelling.Whether you’ve been making art for years or you’ve never picked up a glue stick, this space is for you. There’s no right or wrong way to create here—just the freedom to experiment, connect, and get your hands moving.We’ll be working with a wide range of materials, including old books, textures, vintage illustrations, and anatomical and esoteric imagery. Feel free to bring your own clippings or personal ephemera, but everything you need will be provided.This event is hosted by Artists Escape, a local arts nonprofit focused on building creative community through accessible workshops and events in Statesville and surrounding areas.
